Made with two unique plugins: pRose3D and fibonacci2.
Both of those are in the pRose3D package and this image is in the demo flame file.
Fibonacci is one of those plugins that didn't seem to work because it always seemed to make things go dark. I figured out why and added two variables to the plugin to allow the opportunity to scale down factors within the calculation that were making it go dark.
Typically you can use 0.5 on scale 2 (sc2) which is inside the exp() function, or 0.8 on scale 1 (sc) which is outside that function. Play with it, because it brightens the figures in the flame, but changes them too. Find the right balance for your design. There is a 3D mod for fibonacci2 in the works.
Notice the nice curves at the top of the scene in "Dream Harbor?" That curve is controlled by the "wiggle" variable in pRose3D. Three things affect it, "f" for frequency, and "wigsc" for the scale of the effect and "offset" which moves it around the circumference of the rose figure. Because of other variations, the pRose itself is not directly discernable in this scene, but is very much a part of the structures there.
In the pRose by itself, wiggle is a small thing, but in this image it becomes a major element! Very nice!
Notice the use of transparency for the reflection! That turned out to be a very nice effect...
From the thumbnail in my message centre I thought it was a photo of some NYE fireworks.
