Strictly for Apophysis 2.08 3D hack - though they should function appropriately in the new 7x version too. Anyone exploring that program is encouraged to experiment, and of course report any problems if they occur.
Finally, a way to always pop those flat flames into 3D!
This package began when I commented on the Apophysis mailing list about the 3D hack missing a "rotate_z" variation. Fred E. looked at the code and decided it looked like an easy plugin. It worked!
Next he provided help in getting set up to code and compile plugins. The first were conversions of 2D plugins. Followed by new original plugins for the purpose of forcing the inflation of those stubborn flat flame designs.
Follow the instructions in the Readme file and enjoy.
Note that some of the 3D plugins converted from 2D may not initiate 3D shape, but once you use an inflateZ plugin, the 3D variations all do their job. They seem to need a non-zero starting point.
A minor update has been made... The plugin Waves2_3D uses variables. The names of those have been updated so there won't be confusion if you use this version at the same time as the 2D version of the plugin.
No, these are plug-ins for a program called Apophysis, which is a fractal flame generating program. These will not work in Photoshop Elements or any other digital editing software.
Thanks for sharing They do work although in experimenting I've discovered that some of these plugins will cause an error and force you to close apo when they're in with certain other plugins, lots of the new ones recently released anyway don't have a list at this time, just giving you heads up in case someone has a problem
Thanks for the heads up... While working on them, I did find a few circumstances with that sort of problem. I tracked down the details, made changes and with my list of plugins, there were no further issues.
I'm interested to know which plugins the issue is associated with if you can track that down.
My worst tangle with this turned out to be that I had too many plugins in the folder! So on my machine that magic number was 113. It will vary depending on one's computer.
As a first step, check to see how many are in your folder, then reduce that number and see if the problem persists.
ah I don't have a problem, I make plugins myself and know which ones cause errors etc., I also keep up a website with all the other plugins listed and the ones that work and don't, going to have to update it all over again
