Many thanks to Keeps
:iconkeeps: [link] for his new plugin called Qwave. [link]

He was attempting to create formulas that would explore the results of the double slit experiment. He said the search was successful but the 'correct' parameters were very narrow and uninteresting. However, along the way he created this fun plugin.

It has the appearance of many convergent wave forms, which is at least partially what takes place in the double slit experiment. In that experiment the actual waves being combined derive from a coherent source, ie: they are the same wave in the same phase relationship. They pass through two slits which causes the slits to act as two wave sources. The resulting wave patterns interact with both constructive and destructive interactions which in turn creates bright and dark regions. The precise nature of that resulting pattern depends on how far away from the two slits the interference pattern is examined or recorded.

This plugin is very active and very much a 3D plugin. These stereoscopic renders, Qonvergence Waves [link] and Moon Waves [link] , reveal the nature of the wave forms that make up the basic pattern. As usual, explore using this variation in a large variety of ways, using different transforms and in combination with lots of other variations.
